In keeping with the values of our Catholic faith and traditions, development can be thought of as a ministry that invites people into the process of planning for the success of a school. Development practices all center around relationships that sustain us as individuals and help our schools to grow and be vibrant and successful. Development helps create a culture of philanthropy or stewardship within our school. Good stewards help to celebrate and promote the school mission, vision and values, laying a strong foundation for success.
ALUMNI NEWS
Distinguished Alumni Award True Cross Catholic School hopes to start a tradition of recognizing it’s alumni that have had a positive
impact in local, regional, national or international communities. We ask for nominations from our school/church community and vote on a winner.
Our 2015-2016 Receipent of the Distinguished Alumni Award is Dr. Gilbert Veasey
After attending True Cross, Dr. Veasey graduated from Dickinson High School in 1977. He continued his education at College of the Mainland. He received a Bachelor's and Master's in Biology from University of Houston Clear Lake. He then finished his MD from St. Matthew's University School of Medicine in Grand Cayman in 2007, where he received the President's Award. He continued with his Residency at University of Cincinnati Family Medicine Residency Program in Wilmington, Ohio in 2010 where he was awarded the R. A. Bass Award. While in residency, Dr. Veasey, also received a Masters in Hospital Administration from St. Joseph's College of Maine. Dr. Veasey returned to the Dickinson area in 2011 to fulfill a dream to bring quality medical care to the community in which he was born and where he and his family continue to live. Dr. Veasey and his wife Kim are the proud parents of two True Cross Alumni—Dean (class of 1992) and Echelle Radicioni (class of 1998) and grandparents of two future crusaders—Emmelyn and Cross Radicioni.
Our First Receipent of the Distinguished Alumni Award is Mrs. Phyllis Mitchiner
2014’s unanimous winner is Mrs. Phyllis Mitchiner, who through more than 40
years of tremendous dedication and loyalty to True Cross Catholic School, has
impacted hundreds of families. As Administrative Assistant at TCCS Mrs.
Mitchiner is very often the first person new families see and meet when
interested in the school. In essence, she is “the” face of TCCS. She is the “go
to” person for those hard to find answers about the school, and seems to know
everyone in the community. Three generations of Mitchiner’s have now
attended True Cross Catholic School including Mrs. Mitchiner. Through her
faith, dedication, and loyalty, Mrs. Mitchiner has set herself as a person we
should try to emulate.
