"Surely you know that you body is a template where the Holy Spirit lives. The Spirit is in you and is a gift from God. You are no longer your own. God paid a great price for you. So use your body to honor God."
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
True Cross Catholic School's athletic program is in accordance with our school's philosophy of developing the whole Christian person. Physical development is an important component of a student's well being and our program seeks to aid students in total development of organized, cooperative competition. In addition, it is important for our students to develop socially as they learn to work in a team situation and to practice good sportsmanship. The goal of the Crusader athletic program is to produce young men and women of strong character, who can be successful in the competitive society in which we live. Additional goals of our athletic program include the development and cultivation of self esteem, respect and school spirit.
We offer a variety of sports for both boys and girls from grades 5-8, including: volleyball, basketball, soccer, and track and field. Elementary track and field is offered to students in grades 3-5. Additional sports are periodically considered if there is sufficient interest on the part of the students and parents.
True Cross established our Crusader athletics program in 2000 and has produced many winning teams over the years. Our Crusader and Lady Crusader athletic teams are part of the Greater Houston Catholic Athletic Association, or GHCAA league. Athletics fall under the jurisdiction of the school and is administered by the Principal, Athletic Director, coaches and parent volunteers.
